Establishing the Project Committee
The delegation consisted of a coordinator, a deputy coordinator, three academic advisors from Artevelde University of Applied Sciences, Dokuz Eylül University and Manisa Celal Bayar University, two principals and four teachers from Bornova BİLSEM, and two principals and two teachers from Turgutlu BİLSEM.
Meetings to Plan Events
Meetings were held with project committee members to detail the designed action plan. Tasks were determined depending on each phase/activity of the action.
Establishing subcommittees and distributing certain tasks to each committee
The topics determined in the preparatory meetings were categorized and certain groups were formed according to certain tasks. Project committee members are responsible for management, execution, evaluation, budget, organization, accommodation, travel, communication, website, books, training program, documents, etc. divided into subcommittees.
Creation of budget commissions
Three sub-commissions were established to manage the budget during the purchase of materials and equipment as needed: purchasing, inspection and market research.
Planning purchasing and tutor training
First of all, the project members were informed about the project details with the seminar given by the academicians or the coordinator. Each subcommittee created and completed its own task list. For example, the travel committee has individually organized all flights, transfers, bus tickets and other transportation for each activity. The equipment/material group identified the training tools and equipment and forwarded the list to the purchasing team. The communication committee contacted participating teachers, academics and other teaching assistants who were invited to the teacher professional training program. Other committees performed specific tasks related to their subject matter. Academics acted as consultants for all project teams.
Visit of the European Union delegations to the coordinator school
First Undersecretary of the European Union Delegation to Turkey, Head of Economic and Social Development Department Angel Gutierrez Hidalgo De Quintana and Program Manager of the EU Delegation to Turkey Mehmet Caner Demir visited our school to promote our IPA project. After the presentation, they asked the project committee questions about "gifted education" and "Society 5.0". They chatted with our high school students, who are called project students at BİLSEM, and answered the students' questions about their national and international projects in terms of grants, funds and agencies.
Project Opening Cocktail
As part of the project visibility studies, a project opening cocktail and protocol for 100 people was held in our school. Administrators from Izmir and Manisa National Education Directorates and various branch managers, school principals, teachers, parents and students attended. Deans, faculty members and relevant department heads from our project partners Dokuz Eylül University and Manisa Celal Bayar University also attended the event. The event, which started with the project presentation, continued with a musical concert and ribbon cutting by BİLSEM students.
